in short, I am ck. I like the giants, punk rock, english, and beat breaks :)

my name is Charlie and I'm from outside San Francisco. now I go to college in New York and study english and creative writing. I also make music--that, assumedly, is why you're here.

after DJing in high school, both for parties and for a band (now known as Jubala), and making a mix CD for friends every month for the last five years, I decided I wanted to create music on my own. so, as a high school senior, I wrote an EP with two friends. it was called "life.goes.on" and our group was the trilogy. the EP was followed with a few well-received summer shows.

after moving to New York for school, I wanted to create an album. I went solo, as ck, and created my debut LP, "Kind of a Big Deal." the personal requirements I set for it were that it had to have a message, it had to be entirely self-created, and it had to make people think.

if you have yet to listen to it, I hope you will-- it's in the music section. tell me what you think; I personally respond to all e-mails. since this project started, the album has been downloaded over 2,500 times and streamed over 10,000 times. it's been made available on iTunes, and I had an hour long special on Sirius radio's indie rock station. the support has been amazing, so thank you for taking the time to check out my stuff and for spreading the word. I hope it makes you think :)

is based on the goal of inspiring creativity-- for writers, DJs, rappers, producers, and you.

I produce beats, write lyrics, record, and rap. there's no reason why you can't do the same. in fact, I think you should, and to start, I'm offering up every song on my album as an instrumental and an acapella, so that you can remix the songs, record your own lyrics, freestyle over it, add your own instruments--whatever you want to do, I'd love to hear it. and I'll post your mp3's on the site.

music was meant to be a conversation between the artist and the listener. now, let's wipe out the line that divides the two.

means that I create everything myself, on my laptop--I produce beats, write lyrics, design CD art, create websites and design t-shirts. there's no label association, no one telling me what to write or how it's supposed to sound. this is all me, doing it how I want to do it.

the music is progressive--both in the message and the cause it supports. if you're interested in the message, listen to the music or check out the lyrics. agree or disagree, the hope is that they make you think.

100% of profits go to UNICEF. 25,000 people starve to death every day--many of them children. if you download the album but would still like to donate to UNICEF, click here.
